Review: Copy-Kids Eat Fruits & Vegetables DVD
As a mom of a picky eater, I am always looking for ways to improve my toddler's eating habits. We attend a "Picky Eaters" class every week. I find it frustrating, but they say that we are making progress. We spend a lot of time in the class just trying to get him to touch different foods and play with the food. We then try to get them to taste it. He'll eat pretzels dipped in yogurt, but he will usually not touch veggies or meat. We once got him to eat half of a chicken nugget, but that was a month ago.

We are experimenting with the Copy-Kids Eat Fruits & Vegetables DVD. The DVD shows kids eating different fruits and vegetables. You can choose different foods and then watch kids eating the specific food that you choose. My son LOVES watching this. We let him point to the food that he wants to watch them eat. I find it fascinating that he is more interested in the foods on television than when we play with real foods in the Picky Eaters class. For even more fun, we fast forward through the kids eating a vegetable and say, "Yum, yum, yum". He thinks that this is the funniest thing!
So does it work? Well, like I said, the teachers at our Picky Eater class say that showing an interest in food is an important step. We play games and sing songs with food in class to try to get their interest. I think that the Copy-Kids DVD has helped us a lot because now he will say the names of foods and gets excited to point at the food on the television. So, I can't claim a major breakthrough, but I can say that we made progress with this DVD that we have been working on in class for weeks -- getting him to have some interest in fruits and vegetables! The fact that he is willing to point at them, say their name, and have fun watching the children in this DVD eat the fruits and vegetables is awesome!

It is very important to have kids try new foods. Otherwise they become picky adults and then it's a nightmare going out to eat with them. I should know. kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.
