Review: AHAVA Essential Day Moisturizer, Very Dry Skin

We live in a dry climate and my skin is always so dry. I recently noticed the first face moisturizer that I’ve ever seen advertised for “Very Dry Skin”!  This describes my skin perfectly – Very Dry! My skin is so prone to being dry that I have to use moisturizer every time that I wash my face. I’ve heard rumors of people that don’t need moisturizer, but I am not one of those people. My skin is uncomfortable if I don’t moisturize. It also looks terrible without moisturizer. Therefore, a good moisturizer is essential for me!

AHAVA Essential Day Moisturizer is unique to me in that uses a concentrate of Dead Sea minerals that help to replenish, rehydrate, and recharge the skin.  The AHAVA website says that it is a sensation that says, “my skin reborn”.  I recently started using it and I like it, especially for a few important aspects. First it is a gel-textured formula that quickly absorbs into my skin and is lightweight so that my skin doesn’t feel like my pores will be clogged. Since my skin is so dry after I wash my face, this moisturizer has felt calming and refreshing on my skin.  I’ve also been able to cleanly put my makeup on after using it. Another important feature of this moisturizer is that it does not have an obnoxious scent. Prior to trying it, I wondered if a moisturizer geared for “very dry” skin would have a strong scent. My husband complains sometimes when I use something that smells too strongly. Fortunately, this moisturizer was totally fine on scent.  Finally, the price point is in the range that I am willing to spend on moisturizer. It is $44 on the AHAVA website. While I have very dry skin, it is not so dry that I need a prescription. I noticed on Amazon that they say that this moisturizer may be used for dry skin, eczema, and anti-aging. They also mentioned that it is Paraben-free and classify it as a natural product.

Overall, I love the relief that this moisturizer gives to my skin! I hope that this review is helpful to those of you that also have very dry skin like me!
