Have you ever gone to a White Elephant Party?  If you haven't, let me tell you how it works.  (Please note that there may be slight variations depending on the organizers.)

1. Everyone brings an anonymous gift that is wrapped and puts it in the middle of the room.  
2. Each person pulls a number that assigns the order in which they select a gift.
3. The first person chooses a gift, unwraps it, and then shows it to everyone.
4. The second person may choose a new gift from the pile OR "steal" a gift from the first person. If they steal a gift, then the person who had their gift stolen gets to choose a new gift from the pile.
5. Repeat Step 4 until everyone has a gift.

People often have fun bringing humorous gifts. Some people clean out their cabinets and bring lame gifts.  My husband and I like to bring a really good gift so that we can see everyone fight over it.  We have some people that will go crazy for the "favorite gift".   Last year, we had the best idea - we livened things up by bring a gift that was too good so that people would fight over it!  We bought a $50 gas gift card because we knew that everyone would fight over it and it would be entertaining. It was the BEST $50 that we've ever spent because people got emotional and crazy since they wanted that gas gift card. We still laugh about how funny and memorable it was!  It's now a tradition to buy gas gift cards for people to fight over at our White Elephant Party. It ends up that there were 4 of them in the mix this year.

Outside of White Elephant parties, I think that gas cards are great gifts for birthdays and holiday gifts since everyone loves a full tank of gas!  If you are shopping around for good deals on gas, Sunoco has some awesome promotions going on. First of all, they make it easy to buy gas gift cards online. You can also buy them at the stations. The cards are good on both gas and items inside the stations.

Another great thing about Sunoco is their APlus Rewards program.  It's completely free and offers awesome perks. When you shop, have them swipe your APlus Rewards card to earn discounts. For instance, if you try their trendy Pupmkin Spice Cappuccino, you can earn a discount on your gas.  Even if you buy a regular coffee, breakfast item, snack, or more, you can earn discounts.  It's really nice that you can stack the discounts too. My husband likes the coffee + breakfast sandwich for the 6-cents discount toward every gallon of gas! It is nice that you can register your card on their site and log on to check your balance whenever you want.

Finally, if you sign up for their credit card, they offer a 5-cent discount for every gallon of gas.  I love that deal! It's similar to other credit cards in that it is secure. If you want extra cards for all of your family members, there is no extra cost and everything can be available on one statement. They also have 24/7 online access for you to check your account.
