Review: King's Hawaiian Breads
Are you looking forward to the Oscars? King's Hawaiian Bread has some awesome recipes up that are inspired by a Best Picture nominee! These are my favorites:
Hearty Cajun Andouille Sausage Dip inspired by Beasts of the Southern Wild
Mini Sliders inspired by Silver Lining Playbook
French Toast inspired by Les Misérables
My toddler had French Toast at school the other day and raved about how good it was, so I was excited to make him French Toast at home! I decided to try the"French Toast inspired by Les Misérables"recipe that uses King's Original Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread. This caught my attention because the bread is so sweet and moist. I liked the idea of being able to cut thick pieces for the recipe!
Here is the recipe that I used. (Click here for a larger view of the recipe.)
I followed the directions to cut the bread, mix the ingredients, and dip the bread into the mixture. It was quick and easy.
I then cooked each piece in a frying pan.
In less than 10 minutes, I finished all of the prep work and cooking! Check out the beautiful and delicious French Toast below! You can see my husband's plate and my toddler's plate. My husband said that he can never go back to our old French Toast recipe again. He said that French Toast should only be made from King's Original Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread. I laughed because I agree that it is the best French Toast recipe that I have ever had. I also read a review of the recipe on the web and saw a comment, "Wow I made french toast w/Hawaiian sweet sliced bread. I'll never use any other bread." Personally, I give this recipe 5 out of 5 stars with my favorite part being that not only is the bread sweet and moist, but you can customize the thickness that you want for your French Toast when you cut the bread.
King's Hawaiian Bread also has sliced bread and rolls. We love the sliced bread for sandwiches or with Nutella. We love the rolls plain or with butter. My toddler ate two rolls in one sitting this afternoon. I don't know how he can fit so much food into his tiny little body! He was very upset that I wouldn't give him a third roll tonight. Some kids want candy, but my little guy wants rolls!
