A Trendy Texan Taco Salad Bar with Wolf Brand Chili

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Wolf Brand Chili.

Everything is bigger in Texas, including our love of thick and hearty chili! The Texas State Fair is in Dallas right now (October 11 - 13, 2013) at the Magnolia Beer Garden. Everyone is thrilled that Wolf Brand Chili brought their famous chili for people to sample.  Many of us crave their thick and hearty chili!

Wolf Brand Chili is famous in Texas. Wolf Brand Chili was originally created by a Texas ranch cook and Lyman T. Davis in 1895. Their unique blend of seasonings and hearty beef put Texas on the map for famous chili. This brand is over 100 years old and has evolved with Texan's feedback. For instance, they recently responded to consumers that were craving chili with a little more substance with their thicker and heartier chili.  It's the way that Texans like it!

Our personal favorites include:
  • Wolf Brand Chili No Beans,
  • Wolf Brand Chili Mild No Beans, and
  • Wolf Brand Chili Hot No Beans
Wolf Brand Chili is an ingredient in many Texan dinners.  Let me share one of our favorite bold southwestern traditions - a Taco Salad Bar!

Texan Taco Salad Bar
This Taco Salad Bar allows everyone to customize their salad using their favorite ingredients!  We offer the following for our family's Texan Taco Salad Bar:
  • Chopped lettuce
  • Wolf Brand Chili (Hot)
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced Bell Peppers
  • Chopped avocaddo
  • Chopped red onion
  • Shredded cheese
  • Cilantro-lime tortilla chips
My family loves to build their own Taco Salads! This is a fantastic way to serve a balanced meal that packs in nutrients and offers generous servings of protein, dairy, and veggies!
In addition to Taco salads, we also love bowls of Wolf Brand Chili with whole grain bread.  This is one of my go-to meals on cold evenings. It only takes a few minutes to heat up Wolf Brand Chili and to serve with multi-grain bread. (This is another Texas tradition!)
