#TheTimeYouSave with the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick line

#TheTimeYouSave with the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick line that is dishwasher safe!
Do you remember when good quality nonstick pots and pans were hand-wash only? It was such a hassle to hand-wash pots and pans every night after dinner. It took a lot of counter space to make room for them to dry. I even remember many commercials about dish soaps because hand washing was so common. Well thank goodness that those days are coming to an end! Calphalon offers high quality nonstick pans that are dishwasher-safe. Trendy moms everywhere are grateful as we can do better things with the time that we save.

The Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick line is quite extensive. They have complete sets that cover all of your basics and dozens of single-item options such as extra sauce pans, griddles, a steamer, a roaster set, and more. Personally, I received a sauce pan with steamer insert and a grill pan that are great for preparing healthy food. They also offer the luxury that we can wash them in the dishwasher.

I spend a lot of time in my kitchen and love my Calphalon products. Calphalon makes good quality products and stands behind them with warranties since they are so confident about their products. I've used a few of their products for over ten years and haven't needed to call in a warranty because they have held up well. There are two trendy products from the Contemporary Nonstick line that I recently received and am thrilled that they are of similar high quality to the other Calphalon products that I have used. In particular, I received a trendy grill pan and sauce pan with steamer insert. These are perfect for us because my family often eats grilled seafood or chicken with generous servings of steamed veggies. Let me share the specs of these two fantastic items from the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick line, tell you about my personal experience with these dishwasher-safe products, and share a couple of recipes.

The first is the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 11" Grill Pan. Here is the product description:

Description: Now dishwasher safe for easy cleanup, Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick is created with multi-layer nonstick for ultra durability. The stunning, contemporary design looks beautiful in the kitchen, and heavy-gauge, hard-anodized aluminum ensures even heating. Use this 11-in. Square Grill Pan for stovetop grilling and searing - it's ideal for chicken breasts, hamburgers, sandwiches and vegetables. The ridged surface adds authentic grill marks and helps drain fat while you're cooking.
The features include:
  • Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick combines durability and performance with fast clean-up and easy low-fat cooking.
  • Dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.
  • Full lifetime warranty.
  • Heavy-gauge, hard-anodized aluminum for even heating.
  • Long, cast stainless steel handle stays cool while you're cooking on the stovetop.
  • Oven safe to 450°F / 230°C.
  • Triple layer, PFOA-free nonstick for lasting release
Here are the details and specs:
  • Item #: 1876790
  • Handle: Cast stainless steel
  • Dishwasher Safe: Yes
  • Broiler Safe: No
  • Oven Safe 450°F / 230°C
  • Freezer Safe: No

This pan has a lifetime warranty:
"Calphalon will replace any item found defective in material or workmanship when put to normal household use and cared for according to the instructions. Minor imperfections, surface markings as a result of shipping, and slight color variations are normal. This excludes damage from misuse or abuse, such as improper cleaning, neglect, accident, alteration, fire, theft, or use in a commercial establishment. "
My personal experience with this 11-inch grill pan is that it has a nice surface that heats evenly. The ridges make it easy to drain grease or fat away from the food. One thing that may not be obvious from the photo is that the handle doesn't heat up like the pan. I love this convenience. Of course, the standout feature that I love the most is that this pan is dishwasher-safe!  I am thrilled to free up my time by using the dishwasher instead of hand washing.
The second product is the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 4.5-qt. Sauce Pan with Steamer Insert. Here is the product description:

This excludes damage from misuse or abuse, such as improper cleaning, neglect, accident, alteration, fire, theft, or use in a commercial establishment. "
My personal experience using the sauce pan with steamer insert has been very positive. This pan is generously sized for family sized portions of steamed veggies.  It can handle everything from tiny peas to large chunks of broccoli. I appreciate that it is fairly wide to help with even distribution of veggies so that they cook better. The pan heats quickly and evenly. The steamer insert is easy to insert and remove. The handles on the sides are particularly convenient.  When I am in a rush, I use the bottom to prepare quinoa or rice and then steam the veggies on top in the steamer insert. Of course, this set is also dishwasher safe so you can enjoy using it to prepare dinner and then simply let your dishwasher clean it for you.
Here are a couple of photos from dinner this evening. I grilled Mahi Mahi in the grill pan. I used the sauce pan with insert to make quinoa (in the bottom) and steamed broccoli (in the top).
Here is a photo of our healthy dinner that I prepared.
Now that I have shared details about these trendy dishwasher-safe products and my personal experience, let me share two recipes from our family's most frequently served dinner! They are very simple recipes that are heart healthy. While the recipes are quick to prepare, they also take little effort to clean up if you use the dishwasher-safe Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick products that I mentioned above.

Recipe: Pan Grilled Mahi Mahi with lime
Ingredients:
  • 2 6-ounce pieces of Mahi Mahi
  • 2 Tablespoons of lime juice
Directions:
  1. Add 1 Tablespoon of oil to grill pan (We use the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 11" Grill Pan.)
  2. Preheat grill pan to medium heat
  3. Add 1 Tablespoon of lime juice to center of pan
  4. Add Mahi Mahi
  5. Add 1 Tablespoon of lime juice to the top of the Mahi Mahi
  6. Cook on one side for approximately 3 minutes
  7. Flip and cook for another 3 minutes or until cooked thoroughly
Recipe: Steamed Broccoli with garlic and lemon
Ingredients:
  • 2 medium size crowns of broccoli
  • 5 medium cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (depending on taste preference)
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
Directions
  • Steam 2 crowns of broccoli and set to the side. (We use the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 4.5-qt. Sauce Pan with Steamer Insert.)
  • Blend garlic and olive oil with a small hand blender until a creamy white sauce forms.
  • Add the lemon juice and blend.
  • Pour sauce over broccoli.
  • Optional: This sauce also goes well with Mahi Mahi, chicken, or rice.
We follow these recipes 2 to 3 times a week as they are family favorites.  These versatile Calphalon products are also great for a variety of meals. In addition, to making it easy to prepare our favorite meals, they also save me time since we don't have to hand wash them!
