5 Tips That This Busy Mom Follows to Stay Heart Healthy
1. Exercise Regularly
Regular exercise is important for a healthy heart. I try to go on a run, but if my husband is too busy to watch my little ones in the evening when I want to go on a run, I take my children on a walk to the park. I make it a priority to "move" at least 30 minutes each day.
2. Avoid Processed Foods
I tend to eat worse when I am really busy. I have to consciously remember that I am drawn to bad habits when I am on overload and make sure that I pay close attention to my diet. My trick to avoid processed foods is to stock up on my favorite produce. I eat whole wheat toast with mashed avocado on it for breakfast and keep my fruit bowl stocked. It's easy to avoid processed foods if I start the day with a healthy breakfast and keep healthy snacks around.
3. Take Natrol Extra Strength Turmeric with CurcuWIN.
We always look for colorful fruits, veggies, and spices to pack nutrition into our diets. I love that turmeric is trendy right now. This trendy culinary spice is a versatile superfood that has been used for thousands of years. One of my friends grows turmeric and makes an amazing chicken seasoning with it. However, it's hard to eat a lot of turmeric on a regular basis, plus I read that it has poor solubility in which only a small amount of regular curcumin is absorbed into the body. I looked more into this and then started taking Natrol Extra Strength Turmeric with CurcuWIN. (This supplement is available in mass-market retailers, online retailers, natural food, and supplement stores such as Walgreens, Amazon, Spouts, and more.)
Natrol Extra Strength Turmeric contains CurcuWIN, which is a clinically studied and GMO-free ingredient. It has been proven to be 46x more bioavailable than standard curcumin powder and significantly more bioavailable than other enhanced forms of curcumin. A study showed that CurcuWIN also showed improved heart health and circulation in young healthy people. It's a great product for me! I simply take one pill per day.
4. Minimize Stress
It's not always easy to minimize stress when you are a mom who is stretched thin. My baby is having a growth spurt, so I have had many sleepless nights. I'm exhausted and sometimes feel overwhelmed. We've all been there, right? It's normal to feel stress when you have young children! I try to minimize my stress by asking others to help. I sometimes reduce my work schedule to give myself a break. I also remind myself that the phase will pass. It's important to identify ways to reduce your stress.
5. Plan Family Activities that Keep Everyone Active
Rather than family movie nights or other sedentary activities, spend time together with activities that keep everyone moving. For instance, my son loves obstacle course competitions. We set up various stations such as jumping rope, hula hooping, and more. We also enjoy Nerf gun battles, races, and tag. Not only do we burn calories, but we also have fun bonding and improve our heart health.
Natrol Extra Strength Turmeric provides support for a healthy inflammation response, heart and joint health. The majority of turmeric products in the market place are not easily absorbed by the body. Natrol Extra Strength Turmeric features CurcuWIN®, a proprietary form of curcumin that increases absorption of curcuminoids. CurcuWIN has been clinically shown to be absorbed 46 times more than 95 percent standardized curcumin extract. It has demonstrated longer sustained periods of curcuminoid availability at high levels of concentration that gives the body potent antioxidant protection for cellular health.†
