Gift Ideas for Second Babies

Have you ever wondered, What do you buy for a baby shower gift if it is a second baby?  In today's post, I'll share some ideas of gifts that I personally loved.

1. Nice quality outfits.
My favorite baby gifts are clothing.  I think that every baby is unique and photos of them in their favorite little outfits are wonderful memories.  I have hand-me-down clothing from my older son, but I love to give my baby new clothing that is just for him.  It feels so special to me.  For instance, I received the cute outfit below by Hallmark Baby that includes the Silly Snake Henley and Lime Loungers. The outfit is adorable, but best of all, it is super soft and comfortable for my little mover! It's fun to cuddle with him in this cozy outfit.

2. A baby book to document their first year.
A baby book to document his birth, first steps, first words, and more is always a special gift.  My boys both have baby books from Hallmark that I treasure.  I am sure that they will treasure them when they are older!

3. Disposable diapers.
Let's be practical.  Every baby requires diapers.  We recommend buying larger sizes in case the mom receives diapers from multiple people.  Keep in mind that some babies may skip the newborn size and grow out size one quickly.  Size three diapers are a great gift. My son was in size three diapers at ages 3 to 7 months, so they lasted quite a while.

4. Baby toys.
Many toys are too gross to hand down from one child to another. My older son "loved" some of his toys a bit too much.  We threw out toys with bite marks or other wear and tear.  Baby toys also change over the years, so it's fun for a new mom to have the latest toys for their little one.

5. Gift cards to go out to eat.
Having a second child seems exponentially more challenging to me. I'm always exhausted. Another one of my favorite gifts was gift cards to order take-out. These were especially nice during growth spurts when my baby didn't let me have much sleep.

We hope that you enjoy these special gift ideas for moms that are having their second baby!  Of course, these are also great gift ideas for a first baby too.
