My Experience with Martha & Marley Spoon

In today's post, I'll share a Super Mom tip that has helped me to survive this week - Martha & Marley Spoon. I have been stretched thin with work, children, and a terrible cold. However, you wouldn't have known this if you saw the fabulous dinners that I created this week.  I had a little bit of help from Martha & Marley Spoon!  Let me share my experience with their family size meal kits.

I visited Martha & Marley Spoon to browse the upcoming recipes and selected a few recipes that fit the tastes of my family members.  There are a couple of things that stood out to me as a mom who wants all of her family members to happily eat dinner.  First, the recipe selection was very nice because many of the recipes are things that my husband and I wanted to eat and that my children would also happily eat.  Second, I really like that each meal transparently shared the ingredients so that I could quickly browse whether my pickiest family member would be happy.

Let me give an example.  Our first meal was the Fried Chicken Sandwiches with Root Veggie Fries. Fried chicken sandwiches may generally sound boring to parents, but this meal became special  and parent-friendly with root veggie fries and a dill sauce.  The sandwich was super child-friendly and then the veggie fries and dip were outside of their normal comfort zone, but close enough that they were willing to try them and learn that they like them.  Pretty cool, right?  They created a meal that appealed to both parents and children.

Another example that we tried was the Beef and Ginger Fried Rice with Bok Choy & Pickled Radish Salad.  My husband and I were excited to try this new recipe. As for our children, we knew that they would like the beef and fried rice part of the recipe, but the bok chop and pickled radish would be outside of their comfort zone.  As it turns out, Martha & Marley Spoon rocked it with this recipe!  We all enjoyed it.   I thought that this would be the riskiest recipe in the box and I wasn't sure what my children would think, but it received their seal of approval.

Our final meal was the Noodle Bowl. Again, the recipe appealed to our entire family. The generously sized noodles and ground beef appealed to all of us. It disappeared quickly.

In summary, Martha & Marley Spoon's family-friendly meals were a hit with our family. I'm convinced that they must have moms on their recipe team because the meals were so perfect for everyone in our family.  In any case, I really appreciate the new recipe ideas and the delicious meals that we enjoyed.
