Ideas for How to Boo a Neighbor!

Have you heard of the trend where people Boo their neighbors?  This viral activity was popular in our neighborhood last year, so I decided to restart the tradition this year.  Let me give a summary:

  • What: Booing a Neighbor
  • When: The week before Halloween
  • Where: Typically on their front porch
  • Rules:
    • You leave a surprise on a neighbors doorstep with a tag that says, "You've been BOOED!"
    • The surprise is any type of treat. The example in my photo is the Thirty-One Gifts Littles Carry-All in the Happy Scarecrow pattern that I filled with pumpkin scented candles and candy. My little one decorated a tiny pumpkin with glitter too! Anything goes, but the theme typically includes treats for a family.
    • Once you are Booed, you leave the tag in one of your front windows so that your neighbors know that you have been Booed and so that they may share the love with others who haven't been Booed yet.
    • You then pay it forward if you have time and Boo another neighbor.  If you want to Boo more than one person, there is no limit. If you are too busy, that's fine too.
I hope that everyone has a Happy Halloween!
