The October 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit: Friends of a Feather

In today's post, I'll share the highlight of my day - my monthly Paper Pumpkin subscription arrived in the mail!  If you aren't familiar with Paper Pumpkin, it's a trendy subscription box that provides a monthly paper craft project with supplies.  Each month typically has a theme that is consistent with the season and allows you to create projects such as high quality cards, gift bags, or other surprises. Personally, I love Paper Pumpkin because their kits are always detailed and make it easy to create amazing projects. I am a relative novice when it comes to crafts, but Paper Pumpkin makes me look like a pro thanks to their nice project designs, instructions, and supplies.  Their kits also help me to destress as I focus on my projects.  I enjoy that my "me time" is relaxing, but also productive since the projects are so lovely.

Let's talk about this month's kit. The October 2018 Paper Pumpkin theme is "Friends of a Feather" and provides the supplies to make eight intricate cards and envelopes. Let's start with the supply list:

  • Friends of a Feather Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Spot
  • 8 printed card bases
  • 8 printed envelopes
  • 3 sheets die-cut elements
  • 6 sheets laser-cut elements
  • 2 yds. metallic twine
  • 1 yd. vanilla gold-weave ribbon
  • 30 adhesive-backed sequins
  • 55 dimensionals
  • 150 adhesive dots

There are many different ways to use the supplies to create custom cards. Let me share a couple of examples that I created with my son.  The first card uses die-cut materials and adhesive-backed sequins on the front of the card. We use metallic twine on the inside of the card.

Here is another example. I used the die-cut materials, including the feathers, with the vanilla gold-weave ribbon, and adhesive-backed sequins.

These kits are a win-win because we enjoy spending time on the projects and then our card recipients feel special that they received such a lovely card!

If you would like to receive trendy surprises each month from Paper Pumpkin, visit their website here.  You will probably want to sign up as soon as possible because the flyer below shows that next month's kit is going to be amazing!
