If you follow regularly, you know that we love bonding on Family Game Nights!  This week, we knew that a storm was coming to Dallas/Fort Worth. School was closing for two days due to inclement weather and we needed to plan for a BIG Family Game Night! We were lucky to find the perfect game for family bonding during the snowstorm -- Pokemon Legends: Arceus Game on Nintendo Switch!

Let's start with a quick overview:

Family Game Night - Part 1 - Snow Day Gift Game

Since I knew that a snowstorm was on the way and we would be stuck inside for 2 to 4 days, I bought supplies for a Snow Day Gift Game.  I wrapped items like candy and a Nintendo Switch game to create a stack of gifts. Here were the rules for the game: 

• We then took turns rolling a dice. 
• If someone rolled a 6, they could take a gift from the pile. 
• In subsequent turns, if anyone rolled a 6, they could take a new gift from the pile or take one from someone else. 
• If someone took your gift, you were able to pick a new one from the pile. 
• We continued this until all of the gifts were gone.  

The gifts mostly include different snacks. The big gift was the Nintendo Switch game with a note that the recipient got to be the first player!  My kids were thrilled.  I think that this game is part of why they love snow days!

Family Game Night - Part 2 - Pokémon Legends: Arceus Game for Nintendo Switch

As I mentioned earlier, the big gift was the Pokemon Legends: Arceus Game for Nintendo Switch! 

The game was very engaging and kept us on the edges of our seats.  Similar to most boys, mine are major Pokemon fans!  This game totally rocked their world!  It was perfect for family game night and helped us to create happy memories during the snowstorm!

This game allowed us to catch wild Pokémon by learning their behavior, sneaking up, and throwing a well-aimed Poké Balls.

If your kids are like mine, they know a lot about Pokémon characters thanks to books, cards, and games. This game did a great job of bringing many characters to life for them. For instance, they love Pokémon cards and playing with them. Seeing the Pokémon in this Nintendo Switch game and interacting with them was a whimsical experience that took things to a new level!
