The Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) has a New Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO) Mark! #paid #NewGFCO

Thanks to @glutendotorg and @newhopenetwork for sharing a lot of the content for this post!

If you, family, or friends follow a gluten free diet, you'll be interested in our post today that shares info about the new New Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO) mark from the The Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG). We'll also share examples of delicious products that carry this wonderful designation!
As someone with food allergies and a child with food allergies, I know how hard it is at times. I love that GIG has made a big difference in the area of helping us to know products that have the new GFCO mark.

Let's start with some history of labeling gluten free products:

"Over the past 47 years, Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) has led the way in advocating for those living gluten free, whether they have been diagnosed with celiac disease, gluten sensitivity or just choose to remove gluten from their lives. GIG has dedicated itself to ensuring the health and safety of the gluten-free community in a world of foods and beverages that can often be difficult to navigate.

One of GIG’s most recognizable efforts has been its Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO) mark, which has been used by the gluten-free community to identify products as being truly gluten free.

Now, supported by years of careful research and planning, along with changes in international trademark regulations, the GFCO mark is changing. By the end of 2022, more than 60,000 products will update the GIG certification mark on their branding and packaging. This is a massive change, and given that this mark plays an important role in the health and safety of millions of consumers, it’s incredibly important that consumers recognize and trust the branding."

This history and current trend is important if you, family members, friends, or guests have the following:
  • Those with celiac disease
  • Those with gluten sensitivity
  • Gluten free by choice consumers
  • Parents of kids with celiac or gluten sensitivity
I love that GIG has been making it easier for people with the GIG certification mark that may appear on more than 60,000 products by the end of the year.  Let me share some examples of products that have the GIG certification mark:
  • Flax4Life – granola
  • WOW Baking – cookies
  • Wilde brands – chicken chips
  • Lifestock: THIS PKN Pecan milk
  • Jules GF – muffin mix
  • Crunchmaster - crackers
  • Saffron Road – ready to eat meals
  • Greater Knead – bagel chips
  • Jovial – Penne

Personally, we love all of these products and that they are all so conveniently labeled with the new GIG certification mark! This logo makes it easier for us to shop for groceries!

I also love that the GIG certification mark will be on approximately 20,000 products by the end of 2022!

I hope that you enjoyed learning about the new GIG certification mark and some of the sample products that carry this designation.  Be sure to look for the GIG certification mark when you shop for groceries!
