As you can see from the schedule, the team at Six Flags Over Texas generously packed the theme park with activities for all ages and it's easy to stay busy! Really, you could even spend the entire weekend at Six Flags Over Texas when you consider all of these activities on top of the rides! We were only able to stay until 3pm due to a prior commitment, but I shared the entire schedule above because the afternoon/evening session looked like a lot of fun, especially if you have older children or adults that love the thrills!
Bugs Bunny Boom Town has been converted to Bugs Bunny BOO Town for Halloween! All of your favorite rides are still included, plus there is so much more for Halloween! The October weather provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy rides and festive decor. In addition, the team at Six Flags Over Texas went all out to help families to feel the fall spirit with pumpkin painting, a crazy hay maze, and Little Tyke Tricycle Zone! My son loved all of the rides. The hay maze was his favorite activity. It was very sweet!
I love that it's socially acceptable for kids to ride the little roller coaster and other rides in costumes at this time of year! Be sure to bring your phone to capture those happy moments of little ones dressed up and waving to you from the rides! In addition, there is a Scream Contest and Kids Costume Contest. What? What? Yes, you read that correctly -- Scream Contest! I'm sure that many of you feel like your little one has been practicing their entire life for a scream competition. It's too funny! You'll want to bring your phone to record a video because it's a video that will bring laughter to your family for years to come! The Kids Costume Contest is another memory maker! You'll also want your camera for this fun event. Check out the video below from the Six Flags Over Texas Instagram account!
The Oktoberfest offerings are delicious! The Oktoberfest Food Festival boasts an exclusive selection of craft and seasonal beers along with mouth-watering German-style foods, desserts, and activities such as corn hole, shuffleboard and a variety of festive music. Be sure to sample them all on weekends, September 17 – November 13.
They currently have an Oktoberfest deal that you won't want to miss! When you purchase your admission, add on the Taste of Oktoberfest Sampler for $26.99+tax. It's a great deal! This gives you the option to choose two Oktoberfest menu items and a mug with your choice of beverage! The pretzels were my personal favorite!
Six Flags Over Texas set up six Trick or Treat stations around the park. The employees at the Trick or Treat stations were wonderful -- they stayed in theme and were incredibly outgoing and cheerful!
We didn't have a chance to stay for the Fright Fest evening events, but they looked fantastic! It was clear that the entire park would transform to Fright Fest when the sun disappeared! I won't spoil too many surprises, but here is a small collage to give you only a few examples of things that will haunt you if you visit in the evening!
Older kids and adults will bond over Piggy's Bloodshed, Love At First Fright show, and more! It's a unique experience that is packed with thrilling surprises! Of course, this is on top of all the iconic rides at Six Flags Over Texas. It's one of the best times of year to visit!
We hope that you enjoyed this glimpse into why we recommend that you create a family tradition of visiting Six Flags Over Texas each year for Oktoberfest and Fright Fest! If you have young children, Bugs Bunny BOO Town, Trick or Treating, and Oktoberfest foods will create happy memories. As your children get older, the park grows with them as Fright Fest creates thrilling memories for older children and adults. Of course, these activities are on top of the many popular rides that are included with general admission!
