As a mom, I love that this show doesn’t shy away from tough questions like “How can God be real in a cruel world?” or “Can I be healed from all this pain?”—but it does so in a way that is gentle, redemptive, and accessible for teens.
And can I just gush about the MUSIC for a second? 🎤 The songs come from the same incredible talent behind Camp Rock and High School Musical, and they’re every bit as catchy. My teen and I were literally dancing around the living room. It’s fun, it’s funny, and it’s filled with heart. Honestly, even if you’re not usually into musicals, this one will win you over.
Another thing I personally loved? It felt like reliving the magic of summer camp. Just because summer is over doesn’t mean we can’t soak up those campfire vibes, laughter, and late-night singalongs.
Most importantly, A Week Away: The Series offers a safe, joy-filled space to explore hope, healing, and what it means to belong. It’s family-friendly, faith-positive, and—let’s be real—so much more meaningful than half the shows teens usually binge.
