Tips for Getting Ready for Laser Hair Removal (And a coupon for spa810 - Dallas)

Laser hair removal has been a game changer for me. If I could go back in time, I would pursue laser hair removal sooner. I am getting ready for my third session and have learned a lot along the way that I will share with you in today's post.

1. Select a location with good reviews.

Laser hair removal is not a turnkey process. Everyone is unique with different skin types and hair colors.  Different settings may even be used on different areas of the body for a single person.  You should choose a location that is highly recommended.  Personally, I asked friends and read reviews before selecting spa810 in Preston Center. The aesthetician that I visit here is an experienced pro with experience that has done a great job for me.  (If you want to check out spa810 Dallas, they have locations in Preston Center and Uptown.)

2. Learn more about the laser before you visit and test it out.

There are different types of lasers for laser hair removal.  You'll want to make sure that the laser is approved by the FDA. For instance, spa810 uses the Alma Soprano ICE laser.  This laser is the gold standard of laser hair removal technology and is FDA approved for all skin types. What's even better is that spa810 offers a complimentary large laser treatment for new customers to try this laser before they sign up for further treatments.  I think the fact that they are willing to give a complementary treatment speaks volumes about their good customer service!

3. Don't pluck or wax hair before your appointment.

The way that laser hair removal works is that it targets the melanin (color) in the hair follicle to destroy it.  If you wax or pluck the hair, the laser is not able to do its job.

4. Shave before your appointment.

While plucking and waxing is not recommended, it is perfectly find to shave before your appointment. Actually, you are supposed to shave before your visit. I have found that shaving as well as possible makes my visits more comfortable.

5. Take your razor with you to your appointment if you have a favorite one.

Personally, I take a razor with me because I've never been perfect at shaving. The aesthetician that I visit at spa810 is a pro at quickly touching up areas with the razor before my laser treatment.

6. Wear comfortable clothing that isn't tight fitting.
Similar to any other spa treatment, you are welcome to wear comfortable clothing.

7. Don't apply lotions or potions before your appointment.

Make sure that your skin is not irritated in any way before your appointment. Personally, I use a fragrance-free body wash and skip lotions before my appointments.

8. Buy pure aloe before your visit so that you have it available after your visit.

My skin is sensitive, so this may not apply to everyone, but my skin is sometimes a bit pink after my treatments. I find that pure aloe is soothing on my skin and that I am completely back to normal without any signs of irritation within an hour at most.

I hope that you will continue to follow along as I share my journey and tips that I learn along the way from my laser hair removal experience.  My third visit is coming up soon and I will reveal more details about my personal experience after this visit.  (Spoiler alert - I am already noticing amazing results and am excited to continue this journey!)

Finally, as mentioned earlier, I wish that I would have pursued laser hair removal sooner. I recommend spa810 Preston Center because I am having a great experience. They are very customer friendly and understand that some customers are curious about laser hair removal, but are hesitant because they are afraid that it may hurt too much. They offer a free laser hair removal session on a large area so that new customers are able to try it before committing further.  They want to make sure that you are comfortable before committing to laser hair removal.
