Hurry! Buy Your Tickets Before they Sell Out!: Thomas the Tank Engine visits Grapevine, TX in April!

In today's post, I am excited to share that Thomas the Tank Engine will visit Grapevine, TX in April!  This event is sure to create happy childhood memories. You'll want to buy your tickets early because it's possible that they may sell out, so let me tell you about some of the event highlights and then share a link to their website for tickets.

All aboard! Thomas the Tank Engine invites little engineers to go full steam ahead for a day of engaging activities and fun adventures at Day Out With Thomas: The Steam Team Tour 2019. Children are invited to spend a day with their friend Thomas when the #1 Engine pulls into Historic Downtown Grapevine on April 5, 6, 7 and 12, 13, 14, 2019. Day Out With Thomas: The Steam Team Tour 2019 is presented by Mattel.

This fun-filled event offers children and their families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends™ series. In addition, they will meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway and enjoy a day of Thomas-themed activities including toy play, photo ops, and more.  The tour, now in its 24^th year, will make 37 stops across the U.S. and Canada and is expected to welcome nearly one million passengers in 2019.

We attended last year and my children loved it. I recommend it for both of their ages. My oldest son (age 8) has the happiest memories of the toys, characters, and train ride. He wears his heart on his sleeve and couldn't stop smiling for the entire train ride. My youngest son had a blast too. He was only 1-year old at the time. It feels like just yesterday that he was just learning to walk and having fun in the tent with Thomas the Tank Mega Blok toys. I also vividly remember him giggling on the train ride.  I was happy for both of them to have their first train rides in a memorable setting with Thomas the Tank Engine! I also remember how quickly they fell asleep thanks to the energy and excitement from the event. I'm really excited to take them again this year. They both have more episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine under their belts and the characters will really resonate with both of  them.

So what were our personal highlights from last year? I don't want to spoil the event for you, but I'll share our favorite part of the experience. Without any hesitation, our #1 favorite part of the experience was the train ride!  By the time that you walked through the Thomas-themed village to arrive at the train, you felt like you were in another world. The train ride added to the whimsical experience with employees who were dressed for the part and who kindly interacted with our family.   The experience felt truly magical to my children.

Again, I won't spoil the experience for you, but I will tell you that the whimsical village kept us busy for hours and that we felt immersed in the experience. We already have tickets to attend again this year because we loved it! We look forward to creating more happy childhood memories for our little Thomas fans!

·         For the first time, children can meet Thomas’s new friend Nia in the form of a ten-foot inflatable – perfect for photo ops! Nia appears in the Thomas & Friends episodes as one of the newest members of the Steam Team, joining Thomas, Percy, and the other engines at Tidmouth Sheds. Nia is always a helpful friend, and especially loves to help animals.

·         A ‘Passport to Adventures’ booklet for children to track their journey at the event and receive a special prize upon completion.

·         Thomas & Friends-themed activities including toy play, photo ops, and more

·         Storytelling, video viewing and live music

·         This year, the event welcomes the Dallas Puppet Theater preforming inside the Imagination Station and Wildlife On The Move’s animal science shows
