Recipe: No-Bake Hazelnut Truffle Bites

Recipe: No-Bake Hazelnut Truffle Bites
Ingredients

  • 12 Oreo cookies
  • 1/3 cup of chopped hazelnuts
  • 3 Tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of Nutella
  • 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder (to dust the truffle bites)
Directions
  1. Crush the Oreo cookies into crumbs.  We use a food processor to crush the cookies into fine crumbs.
  2. Place the hazelnuts into a plastic bag and hammer into fine pieces.
  3. Mix the Oreo crumbs, hazelnut pieces, 3 Tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa power, and Nutella under a dough forms.
  4. Optionally, refrigerate for 1 or more hours or else roll into balls immediately. It's possible to roll them into balls immediately, but we found that it's easier if you refrigerate it for an hour or more.
  5. Roll the balls in the unsweetened cocoa powder and set aside.  Once you finish, you'll notice that the truffle bites soak up the cocoa powder a bit. Take a second pass to dust them in the cocoa powder again.  They should then look like the ones in our photo.
  6. Enjoy! Refrigerate leftovers.
