1. Look for Kids Eat Free Nights
When you go out to eat, look for restaurants that offer free kids meals with adult meal purchases. There are many here in Dallas/Fort Worth that offer free kids meal deals like this. For instance, we went to Luna Grill last night and my children had free chicken kabob kids meals with rice, carrots, pita, and yogurt sauce. Modern Market offers free kids meals on Sunday and Monday evenings in the metro. Some of the DFW Slim Chickens and Spin Pizza locations offer free kids meals with adult purchases on Sundays.
2. Look for Shop and Swap Events
I think that everyone knows to look for deals on kids clothing at stores by watching for sales, buying larger sizes at the end of seasons during clearance sales, and so on. However, perhaps not everyone knows to look for Shop and Swap events. These are often organized by churches or moms groups. The rules vary by location, but the general idea is that you bring clothing and set everything on tables by size. Everyone is then allowed to take what they want. It's an eco-friendly solution! Again, rules vary by event, but it's generally a great way to save money.
3. Recycle your Makeup Containers for Perks.
MAC and other stores will give you credits for recycling old makeup containers. For instance, as of the time of this post, MAC will give you a new lipstick when you recycle several of their old makeup containers. (See the store for exact details.)
4. Recycle Old Shoes.
Some companies accept old shoes that are later used to recycle into playground equipment or other stuff. For instance, ASICS currently has a recycle bin at the Grapevine Mills store and they will also give you a 20% off coupon for your next purchase.
5. Sell Your Old Car.
Check out somewhere like JunkMasters to get cash for your old car. They even offer free towing.
