Tips for Roadschooling and Schoolcations for Remote Learning and Homeschoolers

Tips for Roadschooling and Schoolcations for Remote Learning and Homeschoolers
These tips are for those who are going on vacation while remote schooling.  I know that many people plan to go on vacation during the COVID-19 restrictions and virtual schooling, so I created tips to help you as you vacation during virtual schooling. I've heard it called Road Schooling (RoadSchooling) and School Vacation Learning (SchoolCation).

1. Explore downloadable books and resources to minimize the number of books that you need to bring with you.

2. Plan educational activities at your schoolcation or roadschooling stops.

3. Set a schedule and adhere to it. Consistency, despite traveling on a schoolcation or roadschooling trip is helpful for children.

4. Place an emphasis on reading. It's peaceful and doesn't take a lot of space.

5. Look into books on tapes or podcasts. Again, these educational resources don't take much space.

6. Don't forget to exercise. Plan stops and ways to exercise daily.

7. Create a calm bedtime routine. Personally, we use the Headspace app to meditate at the end of the day.

8. Track the number of hours a day so that you realize if you are falling short on your educational goals.

9. Have your children give daily recaps on what they learned that day.

10. Create a schedule and check in daily. Modify it as needed.

Have fun with your schoolcation or roadschooling!
