McAlister's Deli is Warming Up the Community! #Warmingupthecommunity #Mealsonwheelsamerica #Mcalistersdeli

The pandemic has stretched on for months now. Many people are vulnerable during this pandemic, especially senior citizens. I was excited to learn that McAlister’s Deli is helping senior citizens in our community by partnering with Meals On Wheels America for the McAlister’s Deli’s Warming up the Community campaign. This heartwarming campaign aims to provide warm meals to seniors around the holidays. 

If you follow regularly, I'm sure that you know that McAlister's Deli is one of our favorite restaurants. This family friendly restaurant has the best sandwiches, soups, salads, and spuds. They offer inexpensive kids meals with generous portions. We also love their iconic teas and giant chocolate chip cookies! Something that you may not know is that Meals on Wheels America is one of my favorite charities. My grandmother used to support this program when I was growing up and I was able to help a few times and loved the experience. The seniors in our community were very appreciative of the meals and attention that they received through this program. I was excited to learn that that McAlister's Deli teamed up with Meals on Wheels America and that I could help by simply ordering soup at their restaurants from November 1 to November 30, 2020. Let me share the details!

From November 1- November 30, McAlister’s will donate 10 cents for every soup sold, starting with a minimum donation of $100K, to Meals on Wheels to support their efforts to reduce hunger and senior isolation. Third-party delivery and catering not included. 

If you haven't tried their soups yet, you are in for a treat! McAlister's offers a fantastic selection of soups, including White Chicken Chili for a limited time only and fan favorites such as Broccoli Cheddar, Country Potato, Chicken Tortilla, Chili, Chicken & Dumplings and many more! (See soup menu here.) As a Texan, the Chili and Chicken Tortilla soups are my top two favorites. They are all delicious though! My family looks forward to enjoying warm soup during this campaign and knowing that seniors in our community will also enjoy warm meals this holiday season. The soups are all delicious, but they are extra special during this campaign since some of the proceeds support Meals on Wheels America!
