Highlights from my Visit to the Toy Insiders Summer 2021 Virtual Toy Fair! #sweetsuiteathome

Disclosure: Thank you to Toy Insider for complementary admission to their toy fair and the swag box that we are featuring in this post. All opinions are honest and our own.

I recently attended the virtual Toy Insider Sweet Suite at Home Toy Fair to learn about the hottest toys.  It was fun to chat with toy experts who shared their knowledge in the toy industry. In today's post, I'll share some of my favorites and inside information that I learned about the toys!

Let's start with the format. This year's Toy Insider Fair was a virtual event. It was very cool because you could virtually walk through the hallways to view exhibits. Within a couple of clicks, you could chat with people from dozens of toy companies!  They also had plenty of information about the brands and their popular toys at each booth. In my experience, the booths that I visited had samples of toys on display and the reps were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The virtual toy fair was well organized and easy to navigate. Everyone was literally a click away to chat. It was easy to browse and download information about brands and toys.

Not only did we get to view the latest toys and chat with toy experts, but we also received a swag box for a hands-on experience at home!  (Others received swag boxes too. Follow @thetoyinsider and browse #sweetsuiteathome on social media to view other's posts!)

Let me share a few favorites. I'll start with Cats vs. Pickles.  This colorful, huggable, and whimsical brand was new to me. However, my boys saw Cats vs. Pickles on the list of brands and instantly told me that this was the first booth that I should visit.

I quickly learned that there is an entire history to Cats vs. Pickles and that this brand offers a variety of silly yet lovable stuffed animals. (Watch a fun video here.). I won't spoil the surprises, but I will share a photo below of our fabulous Cats vs. Pickles collectible toys and tell you that these are so much more than huggable stuffed animals, especially when you consider the awesome app!

If you follow regularly, you know that we love Exploding Kittens!  This is the game that we play most often on our family game nights.  There is now an Exploding Minions that offers crazy fun!

SnapShips is another brand that we love. This toy is a lot of fun and kept my boys busy for hours and hours and hours!

Of course, Pokémon is another favorite.  This seems to have been another year of Pokémon mania! This is a popular brand that has been holding steady for years. The Pokémon Gardevoir Battle Deck and Pokémon Victini Battle Deck below are awesome. Each box is generously packed with 60 fun cards for a retail price of approximately $15.  These are great because they provide many hours of entertainment and kids love to talk about their cards!  Sometimes my son's teacher lets the kids bring their cards to school to trade with each other if their class is on good behavior.  Pokémon is definitely a highlight for the elementary and middle school kids.  (They may also be exciting for older kids. I'm not sure since my boys are still younger.) Plus, someone from the Pokémon team told me about the free Pokémon UNITE game that is now available for the Nintendo Switch.  (They know what kids love!)

Hasbro rocked our world with their FortNite squirt guns. We already had a couple of their fun squirt guns, but had no idea that there was now a FishStick squirt gun.  This one is awesome for little Fort Nite fans!  My youngest son claimed this squirt gun. I promised my older son that I would buy him one too. I found them online for a retail price of $9.99 on Amazon.

Fat Brain Toy Co. sent a Lil' Dimpl keychain. This is perfect for kids who like to fidget. My oldest son has a habit of chewing on things, so the little keychain below provides an alternative outlet for his fidgeting.  I actually didn't know about these before the toy fair.  My son told me that many of the kids at school have similar toys and that their teachers allow them because it helps some of the kids who fidget.  He said that one boy in his class has 15 different Dimpl toys that he brought on different days during the past school year.  These little keychains are a great invention!

We adored all of the toys! Seriously, check out the photo below. There are many engaging toys. Please follow along as we continue to cover more toys in upcoming posts!
