These are the Best Fall 2021 Books for Boys!

As a Boy Mom, I have plenty of experience with sports, Nerf guns, and more.  I never expected to be a Boy Mom, but it has turned out to be pretty cool. In today's post, I'll share my experience with the best Fall 2021 books that my boys love. After all, we cherish the cool fall evenings when we all sit near on furniture near the fireplace and read our favorite books!

To start, Scholastic is our go-to shop for books. Every year, our local schools have Scholastic book fairs. The kids love them. They love the annual book fairs so much that I began visiting Scholastic's website for books throughout the rest of the year.  Scholastic knows their stuff when it comes to books that kids want to read. I love that my kids light up when a package of new books arrive. It's also great when they love the books so much that they read them multiple times.  So, what are they reading?  Here's the hottest Fall 2021 books at our house!

The Best Fall 2021 Books for Preschool Boys:

  • 10 Spooky Pumpkins by Cris Grimly - This festive book is for little pumpkin lovers who are learning to read and count! My tiny preschooler wants to read this book over and over again!
  • Fly Guy & Fly Girl Friendly Frenzy by Tom Arnold - Fly Guy is like part of our family! We have over a dozen Fly Guy books, so this one that features Fly Girl rocked my preschooler's little world! Not only does this book include Fly Girl to the mix, but a lizard is involved too! Are you intrigued?! This was a true page-turner for my preschooler!

The Best Fall 2021 Books for 12 Year Old Boys includes:
  • Liars' Room by Dan Poblocki - This book is about siblings, but it's hard to know who is telling the truth. Tweens will relate to the characters in this book!
  • A Werewolf in Riverdale by Caleb Roehrig - This is not the Riverdale that you know and love. It's much scarier as you learn about who the killer is in the story! It's the perfect level of a scary thrill without being too much for a tween to handle.
  • The Deadliest Diseases Then and Now by Deborah Hopkinson - This book is part of a brand new series about the deadliest events in history and is perfect for contemporary times!
  • The Ash House by Angharad Walker - The Ash House is supposed to be a place of healing and refuge for children, but there is a twist that will quickly engage tweens as they read this book! My son read it from cover to cover and couldn't put it down!
  • Living Ghosts & Mischievous Monsters: Chilling American Indian Stories written and selected by Dan Sasuweh Jones, Ponca Nation - These are the perfect stores to tell in the dark.   This is a great book for tweens to read and share!
  • Pixie Tricks: The Halloween Goblin by Tracey West - This book is great for families who have children of different ages. My 12 year old read it to our preschooler. The two of them loved this book with pixies and spooky twists!
  • The House on Hoarder Hill by Mikki Lish and Kelly Ngai - This book features forbidden roos in a house, secrets and lies about a grandfather's past as a magician, and much more!
  • Going Viral by Katie Cicatelli-Kuc - Sometimes kids get in over their heads. It's much, much harder nowadays when stories go viral though. This is a great book for tweens!
  • Ghost Squad by Claribel Ortega - This book has been been considered as Coco meets Stranger Things with a hint of Ghostbusters. This rocked my 12 year old's world!
  • The Ghost of Midnight Lake by Lucy Strange - The main character is a 12 year old on a quest for information that guides the story. My tween quickly became engaged with this book and couldn't stop reading!
  • The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh by Helen Rutter - You'll love that Billy Plimpton is not going to let a stutter stop him from making his dreams come true. This light hearted book is a fun book for 12 year olds to read!

We hope that you enjoyed this glimpse into the amazing Scholastic books that our children have been reading at our house!  I hope that you have the chance to visit Scholastic to stock up on books for your children to read on crisp fall evenings!  Personally, I feel like nothing is better than all of us sitting on furniture near the fireplace to enjoy calm evenings of reading good books.  It's a fun hobby and a great way to encourage children to develop a love for reading!
