10 Ideas for Daily Acts of Kindness
- Volunteer to read a book at story time at the library
- Invite other moms to go on a walk in the morning for exercise and bonding. Give others your full attention during these walks and they will be grateful. It's not always easy to be a mom.
- Complement someone. Everyone loves to hear nice things about themselves. Notice something positive such as someone's manicure, outfit, weight loss, cheerfulness, helpfulness, etc. Complement a friend, co-worker, cashier at the grocery store, teacher, librarian, or someone else that you talk to throughout the day.
- Smile and ask someone about their day.
- Create an email account for your child and save the username and password to give them when they are older. Spend some days writing an email and sending photos to let them know something that you love about them at their current age. They will love to read these messages one day.
- Ask a teacher if there is anything that they need.
- Visit a nursing home and make a friend.
- Volunteer with your baby. Consistently including your baby in your volunteer activities throughout their childhood makes the world a better place while also teaching them to contribute to the world around them.
- Watch for small opportunities to help others. Hold the door, help pick up something that someone drops, or help an elderly or disabled person reach an item on a shelf at a store.
- Kindness is contagious. Find a fun opportunity to draw friends into your daily acts of kindness. For instance, there are many organizations that need volunteers and offer fun opportunities to make the world a better place while bonding with friends.
